Coding Olympics

Lesson Overview: One of my absolute favourite lessons, this activity served as a consolidation to the coding classes taught to the grade eight students in my third practicum . At the beginning of the day, students were put into teams and introduced to the Coding Olympics, a series of coding related activities using a variety of tools such as Spheros, Ozobots and Scratch. Each activity was scored and at the end of the day, a winning team was declared based on aggregate points. All the students really enjoyed this morning and it was great to see how engaged and excited they were about using technology in the classroom.
